Seal the surface
Seal polished granite after installation and again every one to two years to keep out stains.
Clean gently
Use warm water and a mild pH neutral soap. Avoid strong acids and abrasive pads.
Wipe spills quickly
Granite handles heat well but a trivet protects the sealer and the finish.
Use a cutting board
Granite will not scratch easily but knives will lose their edge on it.
